YOU ARE INVITED. Sometimes an invitation comes through an unusual God orchestration.
This past June as my wife and I embarked upon a curvy stretch on a road, I suddenly thought of a friend from Atlanta, Shawna Kaszer. I glanced at the time, which was 8:30. This particular road is narrow with tight curves with little breathing room as the trees lean overhead. As we sped through this narrow way, I took note of the shady, tenebrous road with minimal shoulders. I knew the Holy Spirit was attempting to get my attention.
In that moment as this friend came to mind, I felt a pang of regret due to the fact that I didn’t follow through on my word to her back in January to provide feedback on a series of prophetic dreams she had sent me. Simultaneously, I also thought of a pastor, Jon Quesenberry, who asked me to look through his unpublished manuscript; however, I didn’t follow through on my word that I would provide feedback on what he had written.
It was Holy Spirit conviction.
I determined at that point that I must reach out to both of these individuals to ask for their forgiveness as I repented for not following through with my word. When I returned home, I saw an unexpected message in my inbox. It was a message sent by Shawna, my friend from Atlanta. I was floored. The time she sent the message was at 8:33, which was literally less than five minutes after the moment I first thought of her as we hugged the tight curves along the narrow way. I knew the Lord was getting my attention on this matter.
Oh, the conviction of the precious Spirit of God was coursing through my being. Soon thereafter I wrote both of my friends to ask them to forgive me in this matter.
I wrote the following to them:
“However, if I can’t follow through on my words to others, how can I stand on behalf of the Lord to speak forth His word? The Lord is definitely teaching me something through this divinely orchestrated moment.”
They both graciously extended forgiveness. I took the additional steps to bear fruit in keeping with repentance. That very night I read through the dreams in order to provide feedback for Shawna. Furthermore, I ordered a copy of the book, Presence Based Community: Being the Church, Instead of Going to Church, that my friend published that I was originally asked to read when it was a manuscript. I have since read through the sections that I previously said that I would.
But the story did not end there. Within days I received an unexpected invitation to minister at The Way Gathering in Atlanta. My friend Shawna is a part of the leadership of this ministry and they felt led to extend this invite to me. They have asked me to preach on COVENANT, which is quite an honor. This is s topic that has intrigued me due to the unknown aspects of it that I have yet to discover; while it also awes me due to the revelation of what I have uncovered through my relationship with Christ.
Now I want to extend an invite to you to join us for four days in Atlanta. Here’s information on The Way Gathering:
